Kenya (especially Malindi and Watamu) and Tanzania (especially Zanzibar, Pemba Channel) are the destinations of choice for lovers of sport fishing in the sea, or “big game fishing”.
The north coast of Kenya has already earned an enviable reputation among specialists, which is well deserved …the abundance of marine life is due to currents from the deep which bring to the surface food resources that benefit many species. The most sought-after specimens are undoubtedly Marlin, Sailfish, Barracuda, Tuna, Swordfish and even small Reef Sharks…
Many angling clubs on the coast offer a variety of excursions suitable for both beginners and more experienced anglers. The trips are generally half day. All necessary equipment is provided on site, in addition to the fishing vessel that is specially designed and adapted for sport fishing at sea.
Common species: Marlin, Sailfish, Barracuda, Tuna, Swordfish, Reef Shark
Best areas : Pemba Canal and Malindi.
